$5 for Your Books

What is a Summer Book Swap at thredUP?

Normally limited to swapping clothes and toys, thredUP is launching a Summer Book Swap. Send a box of your used books to another mom who wants them (before June 14), and you’ll receive a $5 swap credit, which can be used toward thousands of boxes of pre-loved clothes, toys, or books listed by another thredUP mom…or dad, as the case may be.

When you send a box of used books to another family, you’ll also receive a Summer Reading Package worth of $40. This includes a $25 book rental credit from BookSwim, 30% off an order at Chronicle Books with 5 credits (worth $2.99 each) toward eBook rentals at eBookFling (I love that name, by the way!)

So, if you’re looking for a fun way to expand your library without breaking the bank, this could be a great way to do that.

How does it work?

Sign up for free at thredUP. Although thredUP will send you free USPS boxes, it’s a lot faster to grab them for free at your local post office.

Gather the books your family no longer reads, and list them by the boxful on thredUP.

When another mom picks your box of books, thredUP will let you know, even generating a shipping label and scheduling a home pick-up so you never have to leave the house.

It’s easier than Goodwill or a yard sale, and you can know that your books will go to a family that truly wants them.
