Office Max is gearing up for the Tennessee Tax Free Holiday, which begins tomorrow, 8/5. I got an insert in the newspaper, offering a FREE $10 American Express gas gift card when using my MaxPerks card and spending $75 or more dollars in supplies.

I personally don’t expect to be spending $75 in supplies at Office Max this weekend, but this could be a good deal if there’s something expensive that your business needs (ink, toner?). Here’s a deal for those who need graphing calculators for school:

Card can be used anywhere American Express is allowed (which means it’s not necessarily for gas, but can be used anywhere).

The flyer doesn’t say if you will qualify for this deal by ordering at OfficeMax.com, so I’d probably plan to do your deals “in store” to make sure.

Teacher Appreciation Days

When back to school sales start up, you can expect Teacher Appreciation Days won’t be far behind. Here’s the scoop on how my fellow educators can get some freebie love (and YES, homeschool educators count!):

Staples – Teacher Appreciation Day varies by location. For instance, in Murfreesboro, it’s August 6. In Huntsville (about the same distance for me, either way), it’s July 30. The bummer is that only the first 100 teachers will get a free tote bag. Go here to see when the Staples in your area is participating.

Office Max – I got a card in the mail about this one, but I’m disappointed because, although it’s a two-day deal, it starts on Sunday, July 31. It’s another “first come, first served” deal, this time with 150 goodie bag. As a pastor’s wife, it’s not possible for me to be there when the doors open on Sunday. You have to sign up for their MaxPerks for Teachers program, if you’re not already a part of it, to be eligible for this freebie. To look for what’s happening at your Office Max, go here.

Office Depot – I SO wish there were an Office Depot nearby, because they have the best Teacher Appreciation Day, by far! It includes a free breakfast, giveaways, 20% discount, and a coupon book valid for the whole year (Office Max’s coupon book is valid only through the end of September). You do have to be a member of their Star Teacher program, which is free to join. Around here, the special date is Saturday, July 30. Go here to locate yours.
